BattCursor shows the battery charge in percent directly under the mouse cursor, and offers many other battery-saving features, among others, dim down the display brightness for inactivity, automatically disable the Windows Sidebar and Aero Glass and much more.
And the best part: It costs nothing, worth seeing ;)
Sometimes it is necessary or desirable to disable attached OEM software, for example if it also shows a On Screen Display. This description can help you.
In most cases, this can be done very fast in the respective software. However, it may
happen that a turn off is not provided, but that's no big problem. In this case go to the
system configuration. The quickest way is probably in the Start menu to enter "msconfig"
in the search box and proceed with Enter to confirm.
Here click on the tab "startup" and search the software you want to disable and uncheck
it. Usually you can easily by name and manufacturer guess which application it is
(here on my laptop it is the from MSI developed OEM software). This is also a good
opportunity to disable any other software that you don't want to startup like in this screenshot.
After the changes are saved by clicking OK or Apply, the software will not start together with the operating system anymore. However, it is still active at the moment. Either restart your computer, or terminate the process using the Task Manager.
